I still haven’t heard after my interviews, losing hope at this point though. Not sure if they will send official rejection notices, but I hope they do so we can get closure.

I think they went out on the 5th. Also, last cycle, rejections didn't go out until background checks were complete. That was around March.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 1:59 pm

Re: 2022-2023 Honors Attorney Program (BigFed, Non-DOJ)
It is my understanding that SEC had an internal decision deadline of December 5, but it was sending out offers both before and after that date. However, there could be some movement in the next few weeks if any candidates do not accept their offers. I would hope that SEC would notify everyone when hiring for this cycle is complete, but I went through the process last winter/spring and never received any formal rejection, despite interviewing at several different offices.

Adding a data point to this. I got an offer from the SEC by phone in late November, followed by an offer letter last week. Accepted it a few days ago.

Here’s hoping they send rejections—I’ll still be clinging to hope for the Chicago and NY regional offices until they do.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Dec 22, 2022 12:55 pmIt is my understanding that SEC had an internal decision deadline of December 5, but it was sending out offers both before and after that date. They told me the offers should come out sometime before Christmas. I also withdrew my application early December, though.

Some folks have gotten rejections for DOL HQ, and others haven’t, so it seems like they are making their way down the waitlist.

Received USPS offer today. Does anyone know if there's a probationary period the agency (or any other agency) allows to get your bar license?

It should say in the job posting. I found an old one that said you have to be admitted to the bar somewhere in the US within one year of date of employment. (But it varies by agencies, USAOs require you to be licensed before starting the job.)Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 6:16 pmReceived USPS offer today. Cool, thanks. I'd figure it'd be there, but I'm being way too lazyAnonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jan 05, 2023 12:30 pmIt should say in the job posting. Has anyone received their formal offer yet? If so when did you begin the clearance process?

I accepted a TJO (tentative job offer) over 2 months ago for IRS. You won't begin the clearance process until after graduation because you don't meet the job requirements until you're a JD holder.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Jan 18, 2023 4:26 pmHas anyone received their formal offer yet? Really? I didn't know that. I also accepted an Honors Attorney position with the IRS. I graduated last year and by the time I accepted the offer had passed the bar exam. I received forms for fingerprints and tax records check late last week. I think once by background check is complete, they actually rescind my law clerk offer and then send a new offer for an attorney position.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Jan 18, 2023 9:35 pmI accepted a TJO (tentative job offer) over 2 months ago for IRS. Needless to say, neither of us will be getting a firm offer any time soon.

Do you have any concerns about your position getting cut, not funded, etc. due to attempted targeting of the IRS for (further) budget cuts? I'm debating when in the fall I want to start, and I'm curious if I'm risking issues if I start in October (FY 2024) rather than September (FY 2023).Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 11:04 amReally?
